How Laser Tattoo Removal Works
Pico Laser can achieve your desired tattoo removal outcome at twice the speed of conventional lasers. It is designed to produce specific wavelengths of light in short bursts and penetrate into the skin. With the rapid absorption of light energy into the tattoo ink, the ink breaks down into tiny particles that are then broken down further and filtered through the bodies immune system.
The Tattoo will fade after a series of treatments. On average tattoos require 4-8 treatments with 4-6 weeks between treatments. Results between clients will vary depending on a number of factors, eg Age of tattoo, placement of tattoo, armature tattoo and colour.
Tattoos consist of thousands of tattoo ink pigment suspended in the skin. While normal bodily functions can remove small foreign particles from the skin, tattoo ink pigments are permanent because they are too large to be removed naturally. Pico Laser has the gold standard technology to achieve your desired tattoo removal outcome.
The difference between Pico Laser and a common Q-Switch Ng:YAG laser:
The Pico Laser has extremely high power capable to breaking down tattoo ink pigment into fine dust, making them extremely easy for your body to remove naturally. In comparison, conventional lasers that have limited power capable only of breaking the tattoo ink pigment into large granules that requires more time and tattoo removal sessions to achieve the same results.
Advantages of using Pico Laser:
- Removal of stubborn recalcitrant tattoos
- Faster recovery time
- Reduced amount of treatments
- More effective on harder colours to remove in tattoo (blues, greens and purples)
- Less pain
- Better results
Does Pico Laser Tattoo Removal Hurt?
Compared to traditional methods of removing tattoos, Pico Laser reduces negative impact to the skin surrounding the tattoo which results in faster healing time. According to patient feedback, the pain is very minimal. Most patients find that the minimal discomfort is well worth the removal of their tattoo. When it comes to pain, the most common response we get is that it is a similar sensation to getting snapped with a rubber band.
How Many Treatments Will It Take To Remove My Tattoo?

Ink quality, ink depth, location of the tattoo as well as other factors all play a role in how many sessions it will take to remove the tattoo.
